Before leasing a kids café: prepare the site questions first
A suitable-looking room and an equipment quote do not establish that your intended business can open there. Before committing to premises or construction, describe the actual proposed operation and ask the relevant authorities which procedures and site conditions apply.

Replace “Can I open here?” with a concrete description
The label “self-service kids café” leaves out information needed to assess a site. Explain whether you plan whole-space group rental, which play or experience equipment will be installed, what food or drinks will be prepared or sold, and the intended opening date. Check the building and fire-safety conditions for that plan with the responsible departments.
[1]Prepare one consistent enquiry pack
Give the authority, landlord and suppliers the same current plan. The following is a preparation checklist, not a universal list of documents required for an application.
Address, floor and premises area
Identify the exact unit and proposed leased area; ask which building-use and fire-safety conditions apply to the planned business.
[1]Floor plan and movement routes
Mark the entrance, exits, play area, seating, equipment and maintenance access so the proposed use of the room can be understood.
[1]Equipment list and supplier information
List the actual models, quantities and intended uses. Ask suppliers for the relevant specification and certification information, then confirm facility classification and inspection requirements with the responsible authority.
[2]Food and drink plan
Describe the menu and whether items are prepared, sold or brought by visitors. Ask the food-hygiene department which registration and facility requirements apply to that method.
[3]Operating and assistance arrangements
Describe reservations, visitor guidance, cleaning, checks and incident response. Confirm which insurance, training and inspection duties apply to the facility category and who will handle them.
[4] [5]Opening date and unresolved conditions
State the planned opening date. Ask which rules will apply then and whether the submitted plan needs updating. Keep unanswered items visible instead of treating silence as approval.
Keep the answer beside the question
Record the department, date, exact question, reply and any follow-up documents. A general web guide or supplier explanation does not settle your site’s classification. If the layout, equipment or food service changes, check whether the previous answer still applies before proceeding.

Check the relevant official guidance
Korean official guidance separates facility standards, play-facility registration and inspection, food-service registration, insurance and safety training. Use the matching source to prepare the question; confirm applicability for the actual site and opening date with the authority. Sources checked October 27, 2026.
